Abstract:
Data science is an exciting field that has emerged rapidly in the past decade. Glassdoor has ranked Data Scientist as the Best Job in America for the past 4 years and it continues to attract amazing talent from diverse disciplines. However, the role varies greatly among different companies and many are in the dark when it comes to the details. During this talk, I would like to share my experiences getting hired and working in data science teams in a well-funded NLP start-up and a Fortune 500 automotive and travel firm.
