Intro to Rcpp: Connecting C++ to R

Abstract:
In some cases R code is just not fast enough, for example when you have loops that cannot be easily vectorized because following iterations depend on previous interations. The Rcpp package is a wonderful tool written by Dirk Eddelbuettel and Romain Francois. Rcpp makes it simple to connect C++ to R and provides an approachable application programming interface that allows user to write high-performance code.

Kevin Lee is a faculty member of the Department of Statistics at Western Michigan University. He is advisor of the Data Science program.
