The Flipped Classroom

Loren Heun
Faculty Specialist, Department of Statistics
Western Michigan University

This presentation is about my journey from the standard lecture to the flipped classroom. This is part of a reform movement in teaching STEM courses which focuses on active learning instead of lectures.

Generally speaking, the flipped classroom uses online technology to deliver the content of traditional in-class lectures outside the classroom. Then activities traditionally considered homework are moved back into the classroom.
All statistics graduate students are expected to attend.
