Abstract:
Replication refers to the validation of specific scientific findings
by subsequent independent studies.
We will discuss examples of medical studies whose findings, rather than being validated,
were reversed. So what went wrong?
We take a closer look at their specific statistical features and examine them in the context
of the scientific method.
We end with discussion of a 46-item checklist for
statistical evaluation of medical manuscripts.
