Abstract:
The literature contains many surveys of statistical methodology used in published articles.
We discuss some surveys that focus on medical journals, the typical statistical
methods used, and changes in methodology over the years. We also discuss surveys
that look at common deficiencies in statistical analyses and reporting.
We will end with a set of published guidelines for how to describe statistical analysis
and present the results when writing manuscripts for scientific journals.
