R for Simulation by Examples

J.C. Wang
Department of Statistics
Western Michigan University

R is an open-source, cross-platform statistical programming language. It has, among many other powerful features, the flexibility to easily extend its power by writing functions. In this talk examples on the generation of random samples from selected distributions and the generation of bootstrap samples will be demonstrated. In addition, the simulated outcomes will be presented graphically using R graphics, another powerful feature of R.

All statistics students are expected to attend.
