Department of Statistics
Western Michigan University
R is a powerful software for statistical computing and graphics.
It provides plots, summary statistics, estimation and testing,
linear and nonlinear modeling, mixed-effects modeling,
time series analysis, classification,
clustering and many others. R is flexibly extensible through
user-created functions and packages. And best yet, it is free
and runs on a wide variety of platforms: Windows, Mac, and UNIX/LINUX.
You might like to download R
to your laptop and try it out yourself during the colloquium.
All statistics students are encouraged to attend.
