All applicants for teaching assistantships must submit a separate application
for admission to the
desired graduate program (see item (6) on checklist below).
Checklist of requirements for applications for Teaching Assistantship:
This form, submitted electronically or by postal mail to the address below.
Have transcripts of grades sent from all (college level or higher) institutions that you have attended.
Have 3 letters of reference sent.
The letters should mention your potential for finishing the
desired degree, and your ability to teach a class in English.
If your native language is not English,
this department requests a letter verifying your proficiency in English written by a representative of a language agency or an advisor whose native language is English.
Ph.D. students need to have their GRE results sent.
Application to the University for admission to the desired graduate program.
GRADE REQUIREMENT: The Graduate College requires that TA applicants
possess an overall college GPA of B or better, or a GPA of B or better calculated over the last two years
of college.
DEADLINE: TA applicants for Fall semester are encouraged to complete both TA and admission applications
by February 15, although late applications will still be accepted.
