SCL Rules Of Conduct and Use

  1. Every computer in the SCL must remain powered on at all times. NEVER TURN OFF A COMPUTER OR UNPLUG A COMPUTER. If you are experiencing problems with a machine, please contact the SCL coordinator or Dr. McKean.
  2. If you are using a laptop or other electronical device that needs its own electrical power, there are power strips located on the top of the various work tables in the SCL that may be used to provide power. NEVER USE THE ELECTRICAL OUTLETS LOCATED UNDER THE TABLES.
  3. Follow all rules, regulations and guidelines set forth in the WMU Student Code of Conduct and abide by all guidelines for ethical use of computers.
  4. Be courteous to those around you and maintain a library-like atmosphere.
  5. If you need to use one of the Linux or Unix workstations to conduct research, please contact the SCL coordinator or Dr. McKean to have an account set up for you.
  6. The door to the SCL must remained closed if no one is in the room for security. Therefore if you are the last to leave, CLOSE THE DOOR.
